KATSEYE star Lara Raj had a full-circle moment when she met Indian singer Shreya Ghoshal at a panel hosted by the Recording Academy.Lara and Shreya were among the participants at Shaping Sounds: South Asian Music, Culture & Industry, where they came together to discuss the influence and evolution of South Asian music.Sharing a picture with Shreya from the event, Lara expressed her excitement over meeting the celebrated singer. She wrote, “I got to speak on a beautiful panel about south Asians in music today with the Bollywood queen @shreyaghoshal IM HONORED.”The meeting also turned out to be a nostalgic one for Lara. Fans pointed out that the KATSEYE member had actually met Shreya years earlier, when she was a child. Lara had met the singer in 2012 alongside her sister and parents. ‘Then and now’ pictures of the two singers were posted online with fans saying, “Lara meeting Shreya Ghoshal as a little girl in 2012, only to meet her again 14 years later and have Shreya ask her to collaborate… the full circle moment.”Photos and videos from the Recording Academy event also captured Lara and Shreya chatting and engaging in a lively conversation, adding to the memorable reunion.Lara, is part of the global girl group KATSEYE, a Los Angeles-based multinational pop group known for combining K-pop’s training model with Western pop influences.The group, whose members come from the Philippines, South Korea, Switzerland and the U.S., was formed in 2023 after the finalists of Hybe and Geffen’s survival-style competition “The Debut: Dream Academy” were selected to debut together.KATSEYE gained widespread attention with singles including “Touch,” “Gnarly” and “Gabriela,” the latter earning a Grammy nomination.
