The nepotism debate in Bollywood continues to spark conversations, with star kids often facing unwarranted trolling. Arshad Warsi, who is currently promoting his next project ‘Jeevan Bheema Yojana’, shared some words on the topic. The actor also credited Kangana Ranaut for bringing the topic into the spotlight.
Arshad Warsi says nepotism wasn’t a topic when he started his acting journey
Speaking with Filmigyan, Arshad Warsi said the debate didn’t exist when he first entered the industry. When the host mentioned the word, the actor said, “I have no problem with nepotism. I love nepotism.”He added, “Nepotism was not the topic when I came into the industry. That was not there at all. This is, I think, Kangana (Ranaut) is the one who came out with this idea, and then it got big and everyone started talking about it.”The actor further shared, “Yes, it is there. Does it bother me? No, it doesn’t. My heart tells me, at the end of the day, how talented you are; that’s how far you gonna go.”
Arshad Warsi worries for his own children
In the same conversation, Arshad Warsi added, “At the same time, I also know it’s not easy for a star kid. It’s not easy. The expectations are so high; it’s like today, I see that happening with my children.He said, “The impression that other people have is that because they are my kids, they have to be good actors. But it’s not the way; each one has their own personality.” He stated that it’s not “fair” for star kids because they have to “live up to too many expectations.”He said, “The maximum anything can happen for them is a door gets opened faster than anybody else. If you are not talented, that door shuts for you.”Arshad Warsi said that he doesn’t worry about his children’s failure or success; the actor added that he wants them to be talented.
