BENGALURU: The pathetic state of road infrastructure in and around Anekal occupied the centrestage of discussions when Biocon chief Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw countered the area MLA B Shivanna stating, “Please don’t taunt me as a billionaire.”Her statement came after Shivanna, who has drawn flak from netizens over poor road conditions in his constituency, tried to dismiss criticism.Referring to Shaw’s X post that read, “MLA Shivanna has been informed of this neglect for years but he does not have the resources to provide decent infrastructure as it has been used for other things that have not benefited citizens,” Shivanna reportedly replied to a newspaper, “There is no need to give prominence just because some billionaire has made some statements on social media for publicity.”It was in this backdrop that Shaw told him not taunt her as a billionaire.She maintained, “I am speaking on behalf of citizens who don’t have a voice and asked me to raise these issues. I do not use Anekal roads frequently but live in Huskur and can tell you that the road between Huskur and Sarjapur Road is unmotorable.”
