The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has started the choice selection process for candidates allotted seats in the round 1 final seat allotment for medical and dental admissions. Candidates can access the choice selection portal through the official website at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/.The choice selection process began on August 28, 2026, at 4 pm. Candidates who have been allotted seats can select from four available options: Choice 1, Choice 2, Choice 3 and Choice 4.As per the schedule, candidates can submit their choices until September 2, 2026, at 11:59 pm.Candidates selecting Choice 1 can complete the fee payment process from August 29 to September 3, 2026. Those who accept their allotted seats must report to their respective colleges by September 4, 2026, at 6 pm.

KEA has also informed participating institutions that Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted holidays will be treated as working days to ensure that the counselling schedule is followed within the available time.
What do the four choices mean?
Candidates allotted seats can select an option based on their admission plans.
- Choice 1: Candidates who are satisfied with their allotted seat and wish to accept it.
- Choice 2: Candidates who want to retain their allotted seat but also wish to participate in the next round for seat upgradation.
- Choice 3: Candidates who do not wish to retain the allotted seat and want to participate in the next round.
- Choice 4: Candidates who want to withdraw from the counselling process.
How to access the KEA choice selection portal
Candidates can follow the steps given below:
- Visit the official KEA website at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/.
- Click on the Admission/UGCET link available on the homepage.
- Enter the required details, including the CET number and date of birth.
- Select the preferred option from Choice 1, Choice 2, Choice 3 or Choice 4.
- Submit the selected choice.
- Candidates accepting a seat should download the confirmation slip or challan, wherever applicable.
- Keep a printout for future reference.
Candidates are advised to complete the choice selection process before the deadline and carefully select the option based on their admission plans.
