Celina Jaitly pens emotional Raksha Bandhan note for brother Vikrant, detained in UAE since 2024

Actress Celina Jaitly took to social media with a touching tribute to her brother, Major Vikrant Kumar Jaitly, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan 2026. She wrote about how tough it is being apart from him, looking back fondly on their shared childhood, the strength of their bond, and the hardships they endured together after they lost their parents.

Celina Jaitly opens up about brother’s detention

In an emotional post, Celina disclosed that she hasn’t heard her brother’s voice, seen him, or been in touch with him since 2024, as Major Vikrant remains detained in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). “Since the news about my brother, Major Vikrant Kumar Jaitly, first reached me on 30 September 2024, I have only met the saddest version of myself. Every day since has been a nightmare of confusion, flashbacks, PTSD, grief, stupid thoughts about silly arguments from childhood, the useless fights we had, the laughter, our love, & the way we held each other together when Mummy & Papa died. I have not heard his voice, seen him or met him since 2024. I have done everything I possibly can as a sister, despite whatever has been said. He is all I have. He is my only family besides my sons. I stand by him !!!!!!! He was the first love of my life. He still is”, she added. The actress further said, “Above all, he is someone I deeply admire for his resilience, his courage & everything he has given in service to our country as a Special Forces officer. May no sister ever have to live through this. May no brother ever have to endure what he is enduring. Major Vikrant used to get so angry with me because my Rakhis never reached him on time. Sometimes I sent them late, sometimes they simply did not reach. Today, I would give anything to have him complain about it again. I still remember that one rupee coin placed in my hand as his little sister. I remember the earrings he bought me from his first pay as a soldier. Tiny things that become entire worlds when the person attached to them is suddenly beyond your reach.”“Rakhi is more than a thread. It is a bond of the soul, complicated, imperfect, eternal. May Mahadev bless our bond. May Mahadev give me the courage to continue fighting, the strength to pick the pieces of myself off the floor every day, put them back together & stand up again. Because a soldier’s sister never quits. Mummy, Papa, wherever you are in this universe, bless us. Give him the strength to endure this test until we meet again. Dumpy, I will never, ever give up on you”, she concluded.

Vikrant had earlier refused Celina Jaitly’s legal help

Earlier in March, reports emerged that Celina’s brother, Major (Retd.) Vikrant, had refused to engage with the actress or accept her offer of legal assistance. Officials stated that he wanted any legal decisions in his case to be taken solely after consulting his wife.
